The lesson spot
Take lessons and learn in a knee-deep shallow area with a private dinghy. Beginners who cannot ride upwind may not kite here unsupervised, for safety.

A nearby reef offers on-shore and side-shore waves, a 10, 15 min upwind ride away, for advanced riders.
Riding on your own?
We invite all independent kiteboarders to read the rules on this page before riding. If you are not taking a lesson with the JT Pro Center, you must be able to ride 100% upwind with good kite control to kite on the spot on your own. If not, you can take lessons with the Kite Center.

Safety rules
To kite on your own on Kitebeach you must ride comfortably upwind with good kite control. If you cannot, you can take lessons with the Kite Center.
- All new kiteboarders must register at the JT Pro Center before launching.
- Follow the beach sign rules at all times.
- Always launch and land your kite toward the water.
- Do not leave your kite at 12 o’clock while on the beach.
- Respect the airport buoys and harbour limitations.
- Beginners unable to ride upwind may not kite here unsupervised.
