JT and Zoe are great hosts and they make sure your every need is attended to (best coffee on the island). I kited 7 out of 7 days in consistent wind and jaw droppingly beautiful surroundings.
My girlfriend learned to kite down here and thanks to the very accomodating conditions and the expert instruction was able to be riding solo and unwinding after only 3 days. Definitely one of the best places to learn to kite, plus their are some decent waves not too far away, and we you are not kiting the beaches of palm island and the snorkeling in the Tobago Cays is remarkable.
I will be back for a visit next winter for sure.
This place gives new life to Union Island… it’s such a gorgeous island, and no better way to experience it than from a kite. I had never kited before and in 3 days (less than 2.5 hours each only because I was too tired to make it the entire 3-hour sessions) I went from swallowing half of the Caribbean to cranking along at 15 knots with Butter and Cosford (my instructors) cheering me on every step of the way. Instruction was very straightforward and systematic, and it worked great. I can’t wait to go back.
One note… bring your laptop or book and plan to hang out a bit. Free wifi, beers, light food, and awesome deck and beach lounge chairs and upbeat music make it a place you actually don’t want to leave (even when you’re staying at PSV across the way!)
Thanks Jeremie for making this place a reality.
lots of improvements this year at the kite beach. new larger motor boat, kitebar, improved kite shop with more gear. hotel also had some improvements, and more are on the way. as last year, the staff was really friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
i met up with friends from union the previous year, made new ones, and also brought a buddy who learned to kite. they have absolutely the bluest and cleanest water i’ve ever seen, and i’ve done a fair share of travel kiting.
It is great for practicing your most difficult tricks, cruise riding, or wave riding. all is within easy reach. i love the small island feel, yet it still has everything. definitely going back… again.
THE PLACE to do kitesurf and enjoy good time . Was soooo niceeeee…see u very sooon
– great rum punches! The water at the kitebeach consists of beautiful shades of blue. Frigate is another location with a lot of flat water and plenty of room as well. The Center also organized a sail trip to a couple of other islands concluding with a downwinder from Tobago Cay.
The only thing wrong with the trip was returning to snow in Boston!
